Sauerkraut mash with baked apple, bacon bits and grilled chicken sausages
Winter means eating stew. This time the sauerkraut stew with chicken sausages. Mmmm, delicious!

Ingredients:
- 900 g CêlaVíta potatoes
- 400 g sauerkraut, drained
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 jonagold apples, peeled
- 150 g bacon strips
- 4 chicken sausages
Extra needed:
Grill pan
Preparation
Step 1:
Put the potatoes in a pan with plenty of water. Put the pan on the heat and bring the water to a boil. Then boil the potatoes for 8 to 10 minutes until tender. Meanwhile, heat the drained sauerkraut in the microwave for 8 minutes at 700 watts. When the potatoes are done, you can drain them and let them steam dry. Mash the potatoes and then mix them with the warm sauerkraut and 2 tbsp butter. Leave the stew warm on a low heat with a lid on the pan.
Step 2:
Cut the apples into 8 segments each. In a large frying pan, fry the bacon until it starts to colour slightly, then add 1 tablespoon of butter and the apple segments. Fry the apple segments and bacon together until golden brown. Then remove the pan from the heat.
Step 3:
Meanwhile, cook the chicken sausages in a grill pan over medium heat according to the instructions on the packet. When the sausages are cooked, the sauerkraut mash can be served.
Serve the sauerkraut mash with the baked apple and bacon bits and grilled chicken sausages.
